Netflix 1006 Error - iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch - US Netflix In Canada



Are you trying to access US Netflix in Canada and getting the following error message - 
"Error Message: There is a problem connecting to Netflix. Please try again later (1006)"


This error can sometimes occur if you are using Smart DNS services to access US Netflix in outside regions. This error is caused due to DNS issues. If you are using a service such as Unblock-US or Blockless this error can sometimes occur. To make sure this error is not on your wifi network one simple trick I found works is disconnecting from wifi and grabbing any smart device that may have Netflix(iPhone, Smartphone) and switching to your data(3G, LTE) to see if you can still connect. If you can connect then you need to ensure your DNS values are correct from whatever Smart DNS service you utilize or contact their support staff.

Netflix App Error 1006 on Apple Devices

Error messageThere is a problem connecting to Netflix. Please try again later (1006).
This error indicates a problem connecting to Netflix servers. To resolve this, try the troubleshooting steps below.
Turn your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch off and wait for 10 seconds before turning it back on.
  1. From the main menu, touch and hold the Netflix app on the Home screen until it jiggles.
  2. Tap the X in the top left of the Netflix icon, then tap Delete.
  3. Enter the App Store, search for "Netflix" and select the free Netflix app from Netflix, Inc.
  4. Tap the Install button. You will need to enter your iTunes password to install the app.
  5. Once installed, tap the Netflix icon.
  6. Enter the email and password for your Netflix account and tap Sign In.
Make sure your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch has an Internet connection by opening another Internet application or the app store.
  • If you are not able to reach the Internet through your cellular carrier, try a wireless network.
  • If you are not able to reach the Internet through a wireless network, you may having network connection issues.

  1. My ipad is connecting to everything just fine. Just not Netflix, so the problem is on your side, please fix ASAP!

  2. My iPad has no problem with pretty well everything except Netflix, so the problem is yours, please fix, error 1006
